"Native New Yorker, adoptive Chicagoan, 24-year veteran of being a stranger in a strange land." Drosophila (fly) person. Childless cat man. Cinema buff. "Fascinated by everything except how to dress," as Matt Groening would put it.
Could you list some of these image-forensics tools for those of us who don’t vet microscopy on a regular basis?

Thanks.

Perhaps a fine point: proxy wars are especially despicable.

Both the Shadows and the Vorlons depended upon genetic _and_ social engineering other sentient species in the pursuit of their astro/galacto-political machinations.

Neither the USSR nor the USA during the Cold War were that manipulative.

_Star Trek: Deep Space Nine_ evolved into a fairly dark depiction of interstellar war, especially in the later seasons. Nog’s Starfleet service & injury, Section 31 tactics, & the Federation plan to commit genocide against the Changlings, are examples.

For REALLY dark politics there’s _Babylon 5._

Doug Jones for AL Governor is operational on ActBlue!

To paraphrase old-school machine politics for today’s grassroots-driven world, “donate early, donate often.”

Also — “volunteer early, volunteer often.”

#Alabama Democrats need more than supportive social media posts to win.

Wait, which? The five POTA films beginning with Heston in 1968, the one-off by Tim Burton in 2001, or the current four-film reboot series?

It’s almost enough to make one quit social media altogether and make friends the old-fashioned way — IRL book clubs, local theatrical productions & concerts, neighborhood coffee shop & indie cinema house, and social service organizations like Habitat for Humanity & political activist groups, etc.

If I’m reading this correctly it also means that the absolutely best grant applications based on scoring cannot be funded _solely_ on that basis. Some other justification need be provided (and documented) — such as “consistent with the president’s political agenda.”

Ongoing political hackery!

How about posting a conventional URL for the registration? (And calibrating the time in UTC offset.)

Thanking you in advance…

No, actually Jones defeated Moore in a special election in 2017 to fill the Senate seat Jeff Sessions vacated when Trump named him as AG. (He was later replaced by Bill Barr.)

Tuberville defeated Jones in 2020 for a full term when Trump was running for re-election against Biden.

“Fascinating,” said the sagacious Mr. Spock.

“They have hop-offs, while 21st-Century North American human males competed for mates with outsized SUVs and Cybertrucks. The latter proved especially maladaptive for sexual selection.”

He proudly remembered his prowess with the lirpa and the ahn-woon.

I was once asked if I knew how many books I owned. I answered in terms of linear-feet of bookshelves that were full, to which I added the vertical height of stacked, unshelved, books.

“…and then there are the cartons of paperbacks in storage…” is what ended the conversation.

This is a newly politicized “Schedule F”-type position? So we will be seeing more of these demotions & reassignments.

In the 1980s when HHMI got started, the wiseguy comment was “the rich get richer, and the poor get to teach.”

Nothing’s changed in forty years, has it?
