Everyone is talking about AI and ignoring the biggest technological innovation of our time: the Bureau of Meteorology finally setting up SSL

I’d already bought this new Warhammer 40K book but now it’s shot straight to the top of my reading list

LLMs have got me doubting my sanity. Y’all call spronions “spronions”, don’t you?

Why do you think this NIMBY considers London, New York and Los Angeles to be good, but Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Mexico City are bad? What's the difference? What could be the distinguishing factors there? What a mystery!

Just got “as per my last email”ed by an LLM

10 vespids all done! These were airbrushed from orange, through gold, and finally a bright yellow. Finished off with a raw umber oil wash. Really happy with how these turned out.

New AI job title just dropped

I’m loving the Murderbot adaption, but what I really want is 19 seasons of The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon. There’s no where near enough trashy sci fi soap opera

I’ve never been so obsessed with a game that I actually finished all of the achievements. This is a first.

I’m going to go door-to-door spreading the word of Clair Obscur. Go play this game

I bought my first house recently and I love it and everything is going great except for these extremely cursed blinds

Using this SMBC comic panel in every one of my forecasting presentations from now on

And here’s the finished result! Changing mediums means starting from 0 skill again, but I’m happy with the result. It’s super easy to get a good gradient with oils, especially on cloth.

Don’t believe the Sigmarite propaganda: Skaven are actually cute little rat bros who just need a hug.

I’m trying my hand at oil paints for the first time. This is “imprimatura” — I slather the model with brown paint and then wipe the excess off with a makeup sponge, leaving a gorgeous stain that respects the contours of the model

I found the very first T’au model I painted 15 years ago. I didn’t prime the thing, I didn’t thin my paints, I just slapped it on there without a care

I finished painting my first army! 3600 points of Autumnal Sylvaneth, two sets of awakened wyldwoods, faction manifestations, and a Krondspine. I guess the next step is to play a game? #warhammer #ageofsigmar #sylvaneth

Same, Opticon-22, same

This is the largest and most intricate model I’ve ever done, and my first time using an airbrush. An Elven goddess standing atop a giant beetle #warhammer #ageofsigmar #sylvaneth

Disappointed to see Spotify killing off the coolest parts of its API. I used the audio features endpoint and some hacky R code to analyse and reorder my wedding playlist by tempo and features like “loudness” and “danceability”, and this would no longer be possible

This brings me to 2000 points! 2930, actually, including some big things not in the infantry tray below.

Once I paint up some more terrain I might actually play a game

6 Autumnal leafy boys with scythes all done! #sylvaneth #ageofsigmar

16 Autumnal Sylvaneth dryads all done! These were a super quick paint job, with Contrast Wyldwood, lots of drybrushing, and thinned down oil paint for the bright orange details #warhammer #ageofsigmar

I converted a Stormcast Lord-Relictor into a Chaplain for my Angels Resplendent.

I love the marble base technique here. I take a dry baby wipe and stretch it out over the base and then spray it white. Great effect for such a small effort.

I would absolutely drink R beer if that were a thing

My wife has taken our dog into her office for the first time and he’s barking at anyone who approaches her desk. Incredibly effective workload management technique. What a good boy
