Fun and big last day at PAS! Join me and two incredible colleagues to talk about neonatal hypertension at 10:45! I’ll be talking about a precision based approach to management.

Is it just me or is NIH commons down for everyone? Tough to feel like isn’t a scary indicator of where things are heading…

It turns out the answer is "Not often!"

75% were unaware their child had AKI. 69% correctly described AKI. Most caregivers recognized dehydration (56%) and infection (81%) as AKI risk factors; however, fewer recognized risk factors such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug use (31%).

So what did we find? We found that kids with VUR and more than one UTI had an eGFR DROP of 12.3 mL/min/1.73 m² more than those with ≤1 UTI. Even more interestingly, we saw the strongest association (even after controlling for other factors!) in children NOT on prophylaxis.
