As a dang reader, if I have to “renew” the loan on a library book more than twice, often end up buying a copy. Also, read THE FRAUD by Z.Smith from library +wound up buying a copy to gift someone, + also sometimes I get a pang as I am about to drop a book into the return slot + and go buy it.
