Interesting. I've worked for tech companies and with tech company clients for most of my career and now that I'm retired, I'm trying to disentangle myself from as much tech as possible (which admittedly, still leaves a lot). Cancelling subscriptions, etc. I don't want a "smart home" ...

Absolutely true. I went through this with my parents. And I'm afraid this problem is going to get much worse with AI, because it'll be even that much harder to reach a human to explain what's going on, and the chatbots won't be adequately programmed to help.
