This week I’ll be in Castellon de la Plana for the international conference “Redes de Poder. Las mujeres de la realeza en las monarquias ibéricas”, organized by the wonderful Lledó Ruiz at the Universitat Jaume I.

Went to a tradicional typography in Seixal (Portugal) to learn about the beginning of printing. They even had a working replica of Gutenberg’s print. It was amazing!

A 1500 Welsh language poem, on display in British Library 'Medieval Women' exhibition.

It explains how Annes, abbess of Llanllyr, commissioned the bard Huw Cae Llwyd to perform for a knight, in the hope he would grant her one wish - a pet monkey! Sadly, we don't know if Annes got her mwnci! 🙈🙉🙊
