Shoulder update: Injection has meant I can stop taking the Tramadol - I call that a win. Today I’ve been out driving, doing lots of junctions, for around 30mins. Shoulder is a little uncomfortable/numb but I can tolerate it. That’s positive progress.

Watching the Bowie documentary on Channel Four… sobbing. I remember listening to Black Star the whole weekend after it was released & wondering what the true message was… then the news broke & I sobbed. His death quickly followed by Alan Rickman hit me hard.

Shoulder Update - I’ve had the steroid injection now we wait and see if it helps resolve the inflammation. First proper physio session booked for 13th January.

Got the results of my shoulder ultrasound scan. Thankfully no evidence of a tear. However, there is significant bursitis & tenosynovitis 🥲 which is likely to require steroid injections. Seeing the MSK specialist on Tuesday to discuss next steps. It’s 9 wks since the accident 😢😢😢

Shoulder update: had the scan on my shoulder today. Can’t rule out torn rotator cuff ATM because there’s still too soft tissue is still inflamed with bursitis 😭

Shoulder update: Still having to take tramadol 😢 still feel like it’s one step forward three steps back. Range of movement is still compromised which is annoying. Here’s hoping the scan on Monday shows what’s happened 🤞

Shoulder update: Physio is almost certain the rotator cuff has a tear. Waiting on an urgent scan to make a definitive diagnosis.
Added an extra stretch but I can’t do many repeats before the pain hikes up. Still not sleeping for more than five hours when I go to bed - sigh

Having thought my shoulder was making progress this afternoon has been utter agony 😩 After lunch I did my physio and it was clicking a bit but when I moved to turn a page over in the book I’m reading ATM… damn the pain brought tears to my eyes. Feels like 1 step forward 3 steps back ATM 😭

Gawds, I am an awful patient. I have also realised that being middle aged means I don’t bounce back as quickly as I used to.

Had my first physio session today.
Physio has drawn the same conclusion - I’ve either torn the cartridge in my joint/I’ve torn my rotator cuff 🤮🤮🤮
My shoulder was shaking after he’d finished the manipulation & I’d gone through the exercises. Seeing him again on the 14th
