Today, on Fallen Firefighter Memorial Day, I encourage every resident to join me in honoring the memory of the 28 JFRD personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice for our community, and in extending support and gratitude to the families and colleagues who keep their legacy alive. (1/2)

It was an honor to deliver gifts and meet with men and women who’ve served at the 5 Star Veterans Center annual holiday luncheon today. This vital local center empowers veterans facing housing instability, so our community can support those who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms.

We heard exciting updates on our fast growing economy at yesterday's JAXUSA Partnership Luncheon. I'm always grateful for their work to attract more businesses and jobs and for the opportunity to share the city's progress on permitting, small business support, and infrastructure.

These three labor unions represent 2,600 hardworking city employees in positions ranging from solid waste collection to librarians to park rangers. In Jacksonville, we will always stand up for the hardworking people who make our city go.
Today, @mayordeegan.bsky.social signed the three-year agreements that provide well deserved raises to city employees. We thank our three labor union partners for working with us on an outcome that is good for city staff and taxpayers. We also thank City Council for approving the contracts.

Today, we opened doors for 90 families who deserve a safe, stable place to call home. And we did so right before the holidays, which made this moment even more special. I’m grateful to Ability Housing and all the community partners who made the Village at Cedar Hills possible.

We’re not just opening a park today, we’re opening the door to a stronger, more vibrant, more unified Jacksonville. We are building spaces that bring people together, because a connected city is a thriving city.
Today is a transformational day for our city as we officially opened Riverfront Plaza. Located on the Northbank just west of the Main Street Bridge, this iconic space serves as the front door to Downtown and we're thrilled to finally see so many smiling faces enjoying it already!

We are investing in these parks because they’re public infrastructure. They help make sure every family has safe places to play, walk, and get together. The idea is to turn our downtown riverfront into a true front porch for the whole city.
We're cutting the ribbon on so many parks, it's getting tough to keep track 🌳 RiversEdge Park, located at 2010 Prudential Dr. opened last week on the Southbank. Next up is the official opening Riverfront Plaza on the Northbank this Friday.
