Teenage me really lacked the literary context to grapple with this show, in the same way I wasn't ready to enjoy Macbeth at the same age. I should probably revisit G-Gundam, too.

For what it's worth, I don't really ever think less of someone who makes something that sucks if they do it earnestly and with a spirit to learn. I'd rather see someone swing for the fences at making something uniquely theirs and whiff than play it so safe they make something anyone could have made.

I have found it's often useful to reframe this from "throwing away" to "setting aside for later for the right game."

One, sometimes you do rehome a mechanic to a better fitting game later. Two, thinking that actually makes me cut things.
