One important point: people feel relief simply knowing they’re not alone or “overreacting.” Shared reality and human connection remain core therapeutic tools.

Action, whether protest, values-based choices, or setting boundaries with news, can reduce helplessness. Therapy isn’t about disengaging from the world, but engaging with it more sustainably.

Political anxiety is showing up as sleep loss, anger, financial fear, and parenting stress.
Therapy increasingly needs to work with context, not just symptoms.

Therapists highlight an important shift: reassurance alone isn’t enough when external threats feel real. Validation and nervous-system support matter more than “everything will be fine.”

With every thing going on at the moment it’s worth remembering that when the world feels unstable, anxiety can be a reasonable response, not a cognitive error. Good therapy doesn’t dismiss that reality, it helps people regulate while staying grounded in it.

When your luck is out… Reed hasn’t scored in nearlyTHREE years. He hits that shot 100 more times and it never goes in. Unbelievable. We deserved to win on that second-half performance, but you can’t plan for that. Just unreal. #LFC

It might be my age or my eyesight, but if #SkySports are going to show goals from another match, maybe put them on the big screen. I genuinely can’t see what’s happening on the tiny one. #LFC

Deserved goal. Much better second half, working hard and more aggression. Another one for Wirtz. He’s been far more involved today. #LFC

Feel like a broken record but same issue as against Leeds. No pace, ball moving far too slowly. Only way to hurt a five-at-the-back is speed and circulation. Thought Arne Slot would’ve prepped better for this. Painful watch. #LFC

Virgil just a pace or two off his best all season. Kept Wilson on side there. #LFC

That Gakpo chance, I thought he had room to cut inside and have a go with his right. #LFC

Encouraging science. Early days.
But another reminder that anxiety is not a weakness, it’s a complex, multi-system process that works best when balance is restored. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

From an anxiety-science perspective, this aligns with a key principle: mental health isn’t about eliminating fear, it’s about strengthening the systems that regulate it. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

Crucially, when both microglial systems were present, anxiety stayed in check.
It wasn’t about removing anxiety entirely, but about restoring balance. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

The study suggests anxiety two competing populations of microglia (brain immune cells) act like an internal accelerator & brake on anxiety levels (in mice). Might explain why anxiety spirals when regulatory systems fail to counterbalance threat responses. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

Just finished reading a fascinating piece from University of Utah Health (27 Dec 2025) on new research into how brain immune cells may regulate anxiety published in Molecular Psychiatry. Posts to follow based on this.

The future isn’t magic mushrooms vs therapy. It’s understanding who, when, and under what conditions deeper interventions are safe. Hope matters. So does caution.
Mental health care works best when evidence, ethics, and human variability are held together, not rushed apart. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

Even if approved for NHS use, psychedelics could never be a stand-alone solution.
They could only work as an adjunct to structured psychological care. Innovation in mental health is welcome. But progress means precision, not hype, especially when anxiety is involved. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

Fast emotional change without regulation can overwhelm anxious brains, increasing avoidance rather than reducing it. This is why preparation, context, and integration matter more than the molecule itself.
The experience is not the treatment.
What happens after is. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

From a clinical perspective, this isn’t surprising. Psychedelics intensify perception, memory, and threat processing, systems already sensitive in anxiety disorders. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

The debate on psilocybin & depression often misses something vital: anxiety is at the core of both the benefits and the risks.
Psychedelics don’t just lift mood, they amplify emotional learning. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

This thread is inspired by a thoughtful article by Pallab Ghosh on the BBC website (2 Jan 2026) on the debate over psilocybin, depression, and the NHS. #MentalHealth #Anxiety

It was a difficult and emotional Summer. And some key players left. By October the transition looked doomed & back then if u offered me 4th place at halfway, I’d have snapped your hand off. Given everything the club has been through, this feels nothing short of miraculous. Perspective matters. #LFC
