I always felt a bit embarrassed by how much I loved it.

this email update from my assistant, who was filling in and nervous to be answering calls from Frank while I was out, made me so happy I printed it out and saved it
December 6, 2025 at 3:02 AM
was just going through old folders I have. I really loved Frank, but it was still, of course, a high stress architecture office and there was palace intrigue and some really awful clients who would camp out in our workplace and make some weeks very hard. I used to make "hate art" for my coworkers

I don’t think that name is familiar, sorry

December 5, 2025 at 8:58 PM
I can absolutely imagine it and can not wait to hear
December 5, 2025 at 8:56 PM
I definitely wish that was shocking or unusual
December 5, 2025 at 8:49 PM
He was right, I was absolutely making a statement and also it was very much like the Frank Gehry I knew to do an unasked for kind thing while simultaneously being a curmudgeon through it.

But he often made introductions for me and pushed me to do "bigger things." The day of the first meeting, I wore a massive $15 metal punk spike necklace that I normally did not wear. The unbelievably polite Tiffany's people complimented it. Frank rolled his eyes and said "she's just showing off."
December 5, 2025 at 8:45 PM
If you'll indulge me, one of my favorite memories was that while I worked for him, Frank started meeting with the jewelry store Tiffanys to design some pieces. He invited me to join all of the meetings with the Tiffanys staff and give my thoughts. There was no reason to, I was just his asst. 1/2
December 5, 2025 at 8:43 PM
Absolutely. I just needed to say that because I've also seen "but he was nice to me" testimony used against others when discussing other people in power and I would never want my words to be misinterpreted as implying universality.
