The last I heard, the EU Commission's pursuit of X under the Digital Service Act was paused in July 2025, to give space for EU trade negotiations.

Musk is fulminating against the EU Commission. Trump is threatening further tariffs if EU enforcement action takes place.

Good rhetorical question. Should our laws allow this stuff? In the US, s230 of the Communications Decency Act protects online sites. In the EU the law is tighter: the E-Commerce Directive protects 'mere conduits'. The Digital Services Act tightens the noose. IANAL. Summary: itif.org/publications...

Yes, it's MC for Melanie Chisholm. And though no-one noticed for 20 years, the lyrics were intended to mean that she likes 'it' (i.e. sex) while on ecstasy.

'We got G like MC
who likes it on an.. E'

Yes, it looks like Grokipedia was created by Grok, for Grok.

If so, the logic behind its creation is deranged, like an instruction for Grok to poison itself: Copy Wikipedia but this time make it shitty. Then eat that shit. And never consult Wikipedia again.

A brave new world of alternative facts.

Adverts! Back in the 1980s I was driven mad by the over-representation of women doing the washing-up.

'That's not the Britain I know', I fumed as I removed the marigolds from my manly hands and wondered how I was going to get those stubborn grass stains out of my son's cricket whites.

Telling moment: Danny Kruger spewed out an American abbreviation - DEI - and both he and Nick Robinson assumed that a general UK audience would understand.

The radicalising firehose of Musk's Twitter is hammering the brains of the UK's political class.

If you've never done this before, look for the gap in the potentiometer cover & squirt the switch cleaner into the void. You're aiming to dislodge dust, grease & oxide on the pots. Flood the pots & then toggle them to clear the tracks where contact is made, before the cleaner dries.

Nothing to it.

Just go for it. In the video, what seemed like a motor problem was fixed by simply cleaning switches. It's a non-technical fix, and you can't do any harm if you stop there.

Watch from 25 to 27 mins. Ignore the rest.

'Dirty switch or dirty pots. Who'da thunk it? Well not me initially', he says.👍

If I were you, before giving up, I'd clean the on-off/speed selector switch and the two potentiometers next to it first. Spray some De-Oxit or similar contact cleaner into them and wiggle them back and forth to shift dirt.
