Another IX Arts Show in the books! What a fantastic, one of a kind show. Nothing else compares!! I also brought home a few new exciting pieces for the Stawicki Collection from (in no particular order) @allenpanakalart.com , Amanda Brack and April Soloman. I am thrilled to add them all!
The IX Arts Show opens in a few days! I'm one of many artists who will be debuting new work only in person on Wednesday night at the Gogglewords in Reading, PA. They won't be on social media until after the show, so you'll have to be there to be among the first to see them! 😃🎨

The variety in the animal kingdom has always impressed me. There seems to be no end to the diversity in the animal kingdom, which is, of course, due to evolution. I have always felt like that should also apply to dragons.

The variety in the animal kingdom has always impressed me. There seems to be no end to the diversity in the animal kingdom, which is, of course, due to evolution. I have always felt like that should also apply to dragons.

Small yet spirited, the Red Wyvern is a friendly but independent creature, known for its loyalty once it forms a bond. Often found in domestic settings, these little companions are admired for their fiery red color and playful personalities.

I usually try to render most of paintings in a pretty tight fashion. However, this is one that I experimented with a more textured/brushy technique for the background.

Sharing an older piece. This was done as a personal piece, but has been used on many products since. Still dragons:)...I just hadn't committed to the 'in nature' aspect, that would come to define more of my personal work.

Many times I will be inspired to develop paintings in 'series'. When working on one idea another idea will be inspired. In this case while working on 'Coil', a piece I recently shared, the concept for a piece using the opposite values occurred to me.

I love playing with lighting effects:) It's a great way to control where the viewers eye goes. Also, here's a peak at the preliminary pencil sketch for this one.

I have always enjoyed painting the more natural, quiet moments that can convey a sense of emotion visually. Especially with my dragons, because so many times dragons are only depicted as unthinking monsters. Not to me:)
