Happy 75th anniversary of the debut of Peanuts, and the introduction -- in a walk on! -- of good ol' Charlie Brown. As Peppermint Patty would say a few years later, "You're all right, Chuck." And that goes x1,000,000 for you, Mr. Schultz.

On this day, the celebration of the birth of my story-father (okay, it was yesterday; sorry, Ray), I remind you to please do something that would make Ray Bradbury laugh.

It's release day for my client, comics legend Lawrence (Larry) Lieber! Get CHIRPS wherever books are sold online. I was book designer / developer and general consultant on this. I'm proud and grateful to have helped bring this book from dream to distribution!

Bye bye!

Thank you, David.

Folks, (re)watch this video of Angelo Badalamenti describing how he and David Lynch composed Laura's Theme, and in doing so, created Twin Peaks. If Angelo hadn't passed first, this could easily stand as his eulogy for his beloved collaborator.

Working for peace, creating new protected lands, delivering aid, and being a mother fucking President, right up until he turns in his keys.

Meanwhile, his replacement has less than five days left to keep his promise to end the war in Ukraine before inauguration day. How's that going, I wonder?

That time the dog stole a pillow not to tear it to shreds, but to... have a pillow.

A very grim sunset. That red is a lot more foreboding than the picture can show. Also I just got an evacuation warning from the Los Angeles County Fire department which I'm pretty sure was because they still must think I live in LA County. There are no fires near us. Still. Sobering.

So, of course, every time I take the dog for their midday walk, I have to check in on the local Tiny Library and see if anyone has grabbed my latest novel. No takers yet! But it does tickle me to know it's there.

So there *are* epic fantasy fans who love a lean, character-driven, stand-alone book that doesn't spoon feed every detail but still presents an immersive and fully-realized experience, right? Oh, that's you? Well, you should get LIGHT OF THE OUTSIDER, then! Link on profile! Thanks!

Proud of my client's Native American battle of the Little Big Horn oral history collection and analysis, THE HISTORY THEY TELL. I designed the print and e-book editions inside and out and coached and consulted on the project for the last two years. How can I help YOU?

I come from an era when #indieauthors made things with their hands. In that tradition, I present a signed chapbook edition of my latest novelette, "Reggie vs Kaiju Storm Dragon Squidbat," limited to 100 hand-made copies. $10.00; includes US shipping.

Hey! I have a new novelette available now! Check it out, read a sample, and get the e-book directly from me: mattselznick.com/book/reggie-...

It's a #kaiju story in the spirit of the classic gonzo #Toho movies from the '60s and '70! Go get it! Thanks!
