London via Chicago and Cleveland. Music/movies obsessive, theatre industry vagabond, transatlantic spouse, dad to a darling 6 year old maniac, Cavs fan, grouch.
Meanwhile, can we also have some local news stories on the havoc and hardship these dumbass capricious tariffs are bringing to workers and our precious small business owners?

..."Heaven Help Us All" which was also an election night theme, for me, back in 2016.
The drumming on "Sugar" to end the side, presumably Stevie, is a sample mine waiting to happen.
Side 2 can't keep up the wild momentum but is a fine ride out, esp r anthemic "I Gotta Have a Song."

Based on what received nominations, I would have been happy with Best Picture nominations for any of these:

Challengers (maybe my 1B?)
Sing Sing
A Real Pain
Queer
The Piano Lesson
The Wild Robot
Kneecap
Hundreds of Beavers (possibly the greatest film of all time?)

And while the latter impressed me by telling its vital story from the distant past in rock-solid traditional style, RaMell Ross's daring first-person perspective + juggled timeline mixed with historical footage works just as feelingly, with the added thrill of seeing something formally inventive.
