I would offer the kids $1 for a five gallon bucket of acorns. After they got about half way and realized how hard it was, I would raise it to $2. When they invariably quit 3/4 of the way through, I kept my cash and had lots of acorns

A couple things - 1) this is as bad an acorn year as I can remember. 2) I have to bag so I decided to keep a running count of bags this fall (reusable 53 gallon bags and equivalent barrels). 150 and counting with many oak trees still looking very full. Vacuum trucks would be welcome
