Clerk, House of Lords.
I've since seen the film of Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, and Spirited Away (both the film and the adaptation that was on at the Coliseum last year). I shall put Kiki's Delivery Service on the list, thanks!

Agreed, it's an absolute delight. My first exposure to Studio Ghibli too.

Add to that the amount of time you have to wait for the Office ribbon to respond or the Share document dialog box to load.

Ah, that's why a whole bunch of people have started following me in the last day or so! 😄Thank you. Not as though I post enough to justify it - at least not yet.

You know that's what we're here for.
November 13, 2024 at 3:21 PM
Yeah, it's fantastic.

I've just come out of The Real Thing at the Old Vic and really enjoyed that too.

No offence has been given or taken - I imagine we have a word for it, it's just never come to my attention!

You know, I'm not sure. It could be clause or section I suppose. Lords SO have fewer numbered provisions than the lengthier Commons ones, so maybe less of a common question at our end.

I remember seeing heated discussions a few months ago about whether it was a 'bloot' or a 'skeet'.

Wouldn't be surprised if 'tweet' is adopted as a deonym and used regardless of platform, especially given the brand name from which it derived is no longer used.

I had no idea about the application of the word in computing terms though!

Oh god yes, all the time.

It does make me wonder about their expectations for the business model. If users do end up summarising PDFs as standard, what's the incentive for creators to spend the time designing fancy layouts in the format in the first place?

But do you want our AI to analyse this document?

No, I want you to open this document so I can read it. That's all I want. And I want you to do it quickly.

I mean, I'd like Reader to let me make very basic select/edits to text/pages in a convenient manner, but I get that ship has long since sailed

Darn, would love to have dropped in - am in the office today - but fully occupied doing interviews. Hope it went well!

Not a moment too soon. Welcome!

Just one more turn...

I gave VI a miss - didn't fancy the art style much - but will likely be tempted to move up from V to VII.

Many congratulations! I have read the main tome cover to cover and much enjoyed it. Delighted to fulfill a forgotten longing from childhood to own a piece of your art, no matter how disturbing it has proved to be.

Haha, happy to help!

My original theory was the removal of headphone jacks from phones meant people needed new and pricier headphones, and so defaulted to speakers instead. But yours feels more convincing now that Bluetooth headphones are pretty cheap and ubiquitous.

Getting to the last set and having no clue about the connection but not needing to work it out is a bit of a flaw. Although when it's massively US-specific I give myself a pass.
