Maybe a certain segment of the fan base was appeased by getting Lavine but most knew that contract was horrible and that he wasn’t a fit. Right away people were making jokes we were just building the bulls again. Kings fans are generally pretty smart I think they’d know the value was the picks.

Also they could have done a similar deal where they didn’t take on a nearly 50 million dollar player in return. Guaranteed it was sacramentos idea to Chicago and Lavine involved. If the Kings had done the same deal but the contracts back were like Sochan and whatever else it would feel better.

Yep 100%. He’d probably fit great in Milwaukee with Turner and Giannis protecting the paint behind him but Kuzma doesn’t even get them halfway to Lavine. One idea I had was a 3-4 team trade where we take PG back if the Sixers wanted to move off but I would want value back for taking the contract.

I guess we need to move either Lavine or DeRozan (or both) just to free up usage and DeRozan is the easier contract to move. But because DeRozan is on a reasonable contract it would be nice to get a little value back. Lavine I think we’d just be looking at moving off the money more then anything.

Yeah I guess Collins would give us another guy who can play the 4 but I’m not really seeing a ton of value in a move like that. I know we want to free up minutes for younger players but I’d imagine DC would play Collins who wouldn’t be in the long term plans either.

Yeah, I’d probably even do it without the picks Duren alone would help transform the defense and give them a legitimate lob threat. Then to also get a guy who can credibly guard at least 2-4 maybe 1-4 would be amazing.

Well I wonder if maybe that’s part of the problem. I do find them really trying to find ways to extra positive and defend the team. Maybe feedback from the org/ownership. There are other problems too but fans notice the weird defense of bad play.

For sure, and I do think it was better a couple seasons ago so maybe it can get better but right now it’s unfortunately one more reason not to watch.

They seem like nice people so I hate to say it but why does it feel like our announcers have regressed as the team has. At times they are borderline impossible to listen to.

And to think we could have had Precious all season…
