Reading a book set in England by an English author, and the lead character keeps referring to their flat as an ‘apartment’.

Gosh, what did we ever do for knowledge before AI?
AI sits in billions of phones. Refusing to engage won't stop it, just leaves vulnerable people without knowledge. Demand ownership and control, not abstinence.
Abstinence From AI Is Not the Answer
Opinion | Refusing to use AI won’t protect society. Responsible resistance must include gaining knowledge about it.

I bet sixty of seventy million people would still vote for him if he was able to stand a third time.

A writing tick i’d like to see less of is when authors use the same word three sentences in a row. So like: ‘It made me feel this. Made me feel that. Made me feel like this other thing, too.’ Starting to grate for some reason.

They’ve made a tv version of The Burbs with Jack Whitehall in the Tom Hanks role.

If I genuinely thought someone was driving at me, I think my first instinct would be to try and jump out the way. Personally. Seems like what you’d do.

Jebus creebus, Linehan has really just gone all in on every unhinged right wing talking point now. (Popped briefly into Twitter, gag, and he smeared briefly across the timeline) What a cunt. To think I once looked up to that guy’s comedy work. And worked with him. Twat.

Well okay, that was really fun.
Current season of the Traitors is not really grabbing as hard as the previous ones, is it? Difficult coming so hot on the heels of the really good celebrity version, but it’s not as gripping as the previous normal seasons.

Finished Stranger Things. Sure, some of the writing was a bit off this season, but I enjoyed it anyway.

There’s one horror book that seems to be on every horror readers top ten reads of the year for some reason, and for me it was just fine. I wonder which book it was..?..?

Probably way too much stuff, squashed into too little, but I love it.
ON THIS DAY... In 2013, The Time of the Doctor was first broadcast on BBC One. It was broadcast at 7.30pm and received a viewership of 11.1 million.

Was going to wait until next year, but I’ve started on the next draft of the horror novella.

The company that takes care of the building I live in is going to steal everyone’s doormats. Apparently they’re a terrible hazard. Daft tits.

Wondering whether to shop around my 20,000 word very short horror novella or just put it out through my own small press. Can’t be that many places wanting to put out such a short book.

Horror fiction is a funny genre, because you can hear people on a podcast lauding some book, how deep and amazing and soul baring it is, just rhapsodising, and you just thought it was a goofy, pretty fun read. (Not saying they’re wrong)
