It is always a bit funny to me that the election of Rachel Notley freaked these people out so much they decided to weld opposing libertarians and conservative factions together no matter how potentially destructive to their mutual ideological goals it might prove.

A background element in Hyperion is the Hegira (exodus or migration from Arabic) with humanity spreading out in an exodus to the stars. It's a term used early, often and IMO well to describe what I think could be a future where humans migrate to the stars.

Unsurprisingly the only bracket he has a slight edge in is the 35-54 male crowd. But when you consider that conservative candidates in other countries tend to lead heavily with men and Pierre barely does it just really drives his bad image and liabilities for the CPC home.

Honestly it's impressive how Pierre can barely break even with Carney in any age bracket. The man really sucks as a candidate.

My most successful preaching was either after a pint or two and reminding someone God loves them or from words that people needed to hear when I felt moved by the Spirit.

Never once did I need to use a slur. Weird!

There's some quote about a short victorious war that I can't quite put my finger on. Another infamous gilded dynasty may have tried it...

I'm of the opinion that some use cases exist for the technology, but none for me personally.

The Big Tech companies using it like OpenAI and Meta do not have positive use cases in mind and generally seem only to be bad actors trying to scale a system that is unsustainable.

Just saw some videos on this and... yikes those are bad dubs! Flat delivery and cringe words.

Gonna avoid at all costs!

In my opinion (and teachers I know) ChatGPT is a blight on educational discourse and is wrecking everything as you say!

There's a reason ChatGPT use drops massively when the academic year is out!

with a lot of pro-Alberta economy baked in. Sweetheart deals and extra government subsidies. The Wild Rose Conservatives are farther right extremists who are trying to create an Alberta identity that doesn't exist to justify a separatist movement that isn't popular. The two don't mesh well 2/2

My personal read is that Smith wants to move forward on business, but she's ridden the populist outrage for so long she is teetering on the edge of another schism in the conservative movement because the two sides want opposite outcomes. Alberta Conservatives broadly want "business as usual" but 1/2

The final act of my novel is based around that idea. Just showing up in orbit isn't good enough for a developed world if they can shoot back with any reliability!
