I really wanted the Baby Kangaroo switches but they were too loud for my typing style. Felt amazing but they were annoying my wife when my door is open.

That's basically why I did it. I wanted the lightest tactile switches that were silent and felt good to me. Not the lightest overall, just lightest for my preference.

The custom 360 was pricey but worth every penny to me.

So expensive. I wish I just skipped the Moonlander and went right to the 360 though. Although now with the 360 out for service the Moonlander is what I'm using until it comes back.

I couldn't do the Glove80. It felt too cheap for me and the price was about in the range of the 360. It was comfy though!

I paid Upgrade Keyboards to build a custom 360 with TTC Bluish White switches and they have been wonderful! Tactile switches are susceptible to left ping though.

Can't beat em', join em'.

I very much believe this to be the case based on some Reddit threads I've seen.

You should do it. The 9070 XT is solid for gaming. It's just not working for me in DaVinci Resolve but it works for gaming and AI workloads.

Haha. I get full access to a few racks in our development and production environments. I'm running workloads on them right now!

This is not knocking the Framework Desktop. I still use it every day and will continue to use it.

I'm waiting for them to resolve the PSU noise issue and have an active ticket open with them.

The other two issues would be great to resolve in a refresh or 2nd gen.

PSU Noise: There's a periodic, annoying, whirring resonance from the PSU fan

5 GbE NIC: It's the limiting factor in my 10 GbE network

PCI Slot: It's not exposed on the case

Even if DaVinci Resolve worked tomorrow I would still choose the Framework Desktop for its size, power, and performance.

It does, however, have 3 fatal flaws.

The 9950X3D build is better performing than the Framework Desktop but I have a few problems with it that make the Framework Desktop the better choice.

Size: That ATX case is massive
DaVinci Resolve: The 9070 XT doesn't work on Linux

Thank you. Gotta let people know I see their shenanigans.

It's their forum but they have a community marketplace section for this.

Haha. Both, really!
November 14, 2025 at 4:14 PM
Ah yeah. That totally makes sense. Maybe in the future!
