“The rise of the creator economy has blurred the line between the personal and the performative.”

Really enjoyed a short piece in the recent Time magazine by @taylorcrumpton.bsky.social These opening lines on the frankly out-of-control “content creator”/“influencer” economy are excellent.

Still very grateful also for the generous endorsement by Nile Green on the back cover.

Insane photos just published with the NTSB preliminary report on the crash of UPS 2976 on Nov 4. The left engine detaches and goes up and over the wing before shrapnel from it gets ingested by the tail mounted engine. So tragic. This is why whole fleet has been grounded to check the mounting pylons.

The Chronicle just never lets up with this stuff. I’m sorry, but I’ve looked deeply into it, and at the point, i’m convinced there is no “right way.” Seriously, stop trying to make a crack in the door so the demons can slip in.

Two of the very worst. Of course they mutually admire.

Oh, and say his name:
Jamal Khashoggi
Jamal Khashoggi
Jamal Khashoggi
…and the many thousands of others killed or imprisoned by the Saudis.

Yeah they had it on display when I was there. My Quran studies side was nerding out

Okay the editorial choice of subheading here is genuinely funny.

Highlights include… hunting accident

Uh… things were nightmarishly abnormal before the shutdown. Is that the “normal” you mean? The normal too many media outlets have been helping to normalize?

Definitely more active and vibrant my second time out. Gorgeous. What an amazing thing.

Current view. It’s early; I plan to go out again later.

(…by looking back in my camera roll at my pics from the amazing Aurora we had here in Mich in Oct 2024🙂 It’s too cloudy here tonight and too cold to go out)

Glad I got out to enjoy the fall colors as much as I did the past few weeks, as in the photo from last week.

As always happens, today was very windy, a November “Windsday,” and just like that, many of the trees are bare :(.

It was a MD-11 freighter which apparently only reached 175 feet altitude.

The lead story on NYT right now. Just like a thousand horrible headlines in the run up to the US invasion of Iraq in 2002/3. “Bush Weighing Options, Yet to Make Decision…” just replace Venezuela with Iraq and Maduro with Hussein.

Cheney’s world, ladies and gentlemen.

Last photo of this. Now on display in my office… It was a wee pricey, but a great way to spend time with one of my kids before they’re off to college next yr. FYI, the instructions contain cool historical notes which guide you in building the model in the same rough sequence as the actual cathedral
