It’s odd—kid relationships are so fleeting anyway. You have no idea if your kid is going to like theirs this week to the next, much less longer. And the other parents know this too, so it has higher than normal costs because it’s really choosing to be friends *in spite* of your kids

I feel this v. strongly, especially w/r/t the dads. You’d think “involved parent” wasn’t, Idk, way off in a tail but. Also, being the “primary” school parent among mainly moms is just another social friction
