Y’all. There’s still two full weeks left in January. Is this month dragging for anyone else?

I see what they mean about your opinions softening as you age. For example, I no longer wish ruination on whoever decided that pop tab cans are the default over can opener cans

If Pam has 500 people working on redactions and there are 2 million documents, it would take 40 working days if everyone averaged 100 documents a day. Why do we only have 12,000 files?

Do y’all have that one coworker who messages you at 4pm on a Friday every Friday with a problem? Me neither 😅

I asked Copilot to write a script today which it did mostly successfully.

I could not figure out why it would not display the results of the script for a while, but I realized it missed a comma. It's supposed to catch missing commas for me, not the other way around!

This is the type of thinking we need in our city. Trimet is a vital service and non-car means of transportation are an amazing way to help us meet our climate and street safety goals

I’ve worked with powershell for far too long. I was working on a python script and had to search to see what their version of a ‘-notcontains’ operator is.

It struck me that Powershell is so weird and my brain has been tricked by Microsoft into thinking it’s normal.

It’s ‘not in’ btw

Like, AI is not needed to do this task in gmail. It's so simple to search plumber and then filter by date. Leave me alone AI

I've been putting off switching off gmail for years, but with today's announcement that they're AI-ifying gmail, it makes me want to switch to proton more and more

You can make ice with your voice? Just what I’ve always wanted..?
60 lbs of ice a day!
RGB lighting!
For the low low price of $500

I hate that I kind of like it

I do not have space for this in my apartment or my budget

If your logitech mouse is not working properly on MacOS, it's not just you. I had this issue on my Mac today too

I would like to file a personal complaint against whoever made infinite scroll blogs that go to a new article and change the link if you scroll too far. Sometimes, I see something I want to share and have accidentally triggered this "feature" and share the wrong link

This year’s CES has been really fun! I feel like there’s been some real innovation among the mountains of AI slop. Robot vacuums are really having a moment. Some cool innovation in displays. Also some wild stuff like the taint stimulating unit and uncanny valley humanoid robots. Overall 10/10

I’m not usually a person who preorders stuff, but I got really excited about Index when it was announced and preordered it. I often try to use Siri or pull out my phone to take notes when I’m on the go, but it’s clunky and takes me out of the moment 1/2

You can speak into the Pebble Index to have it remember things or set reminders, timers, and tasks. No cloud processing, no subscription, and best of all, no charging.

A great interview with a cool leader in Portland. I hope she becomes the council president. I am grateful to be represented by someone who fights affordability and rights of everyday Portlanders
