Imo the Shield rocks because it means that team’s fans got to watch the most winning soccer in the league over the entire course of a season. Especially if you’re winning at home, that makes for a very fun ride.

Is building a SS stadium in SoDo where the Chris Hansen Sonics arena was proposed out of the question? I feel like I rarely see this brought up as a potential solution. A stadium in warehouse ass Renton would be horrible.

Yeah I get doing some funny hosting rights for phase 1 but not granting knockout game hosting rights to the higher seeded teams from phase 1 is utterly nonsensical. Could just have predesignated neutral venues for the Mexican 1 and 2 seeds, let the MLS 1 and 2 host at home. Not complicated!
