Catbug is my spirit animal.
Walk Hard starring John C. Reilly. I absolutely love that film, and the woman I was dating when the film came out also loved it, which gave me a distorted view of its appeal. You have to have a very particular sense of humor to enjoy it. Another later GF I showed the film couldn't even finish it 🤷‍♂️

I always use cups with lids when I am at home, because otherwise my cat WILL drink from it.

Was Jar Jar Binks Dutch, then?

Just finished watching this, and I loved it. But disappointed there wasn't a single Dark Helmet or Life Day joke :(

Robert LaFollette and Eugene McCarthy both coming from Wisconsin is usually the one that gets me.

My cat hates my suitcase, but luckily has never peed in it. He just scratches it

Fifteen years after the ACA was signed into law and the Republicans still haven't finished their homework.

I had been on the fence about Platner, but this video adds all the needed context. The sticking point for me was that Mills has already said she doesn't want to get rid of the filibuster, which is nuts. But Platner looks like a disaster waiting to happen if he made it to the general election.

If Newton had done this with calculus, then Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz wouldn't have also discovered it!

Yup. The Population Bomb didn't exactly survive the test of time 🙄

Yup, both in 1930s Germany and in current day Hungary, the only real opposition party managed to completely discredit itself, paving the way for one party authoritarian rule. These careerist empty suits in the Democratic caucus are repeating the same mistake.

Yeah, FUCK Schumer and Durbin, and the rest of the Cave Caucus. They couldn't even hold out for a year's worth of ACA subsidies. What a joke. Their brilliant idea was to surrender all of their leverage in return for NOTHING.

Called both my Senators offices, was forwarded to full voice mall boxes. Sent them both emails saying what a huge mistake it would be to surrender now in return for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Are they intentionally trying to kill the momentum they earned from Tuesday's election results?

Just called both of my Senators offices, got voice mail, and was unable to leave a message due to voicemail being full. So just sent emails to them instead telling them how huge of a mistake it would be to end the shutdown now in return for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Unbelievable they are considering it.
November 9, 2025 at 9:28 PM
Whelp, looks like they were just looking for a way to surrender in return for nothing after all 🤷‍♂️

My take was originally similar to yours, that it was a pathetic climb down from demanding a longterm restoration of the ACA subsidies, but this graf from Josh Marshall changed my mind a bit. As long as Dems make sure that this is THE issue going into the midterms, it could work out. Thoughts?

She is pretty great. Her performance as Kim Wexler was amazing!

He's right, the local election board in Bumblefuck County has INTEGRITY!

Imagine working for this cretin. Ugh.
November 5, 2025 at 7:10 AM
Yup. Schumer is NOT the kind of leader we need right now.
