Birds seen ‘in the wild’, but not ticked: LT Skua - too fleeting / distant view. Scottish Crossbill - not proven. Hooded Crow/GW Teal - lumps. LWF Geese - reintros. R Shelduck - Cat B. Sibe Chiffy - subspecies. Snow Goose - feral. Bustard - not self-sustaining. The rest - escapes. #birds #ukbirding

The Olive-backed Pipit showed well at South Gare today. 3rd new Pipit of year and #270 of year. First year I’ve counted from 1st Jan & wanted to get to UK #300 by end of 2025. I now have 1 to go, this beautiful Pipit was UK #299. #ukbirding #birds #pipits

Scotland was 🔥When my pre-booked birding day out was cancelled last minute, I was a bit dejected & thought I would struggle.. but I found my own Crested Tits, probable Scottish Crossbill & Ptarmigan. All the more satisfying when self-found. 2 more Cresties from this AM. #birds #ukbirding #scotland

I heard the call & couldn’t say now if it Common or Scottish Crossbill (and didn’t record it). But, as they were seen in Anagach Woods, there is surely more than a 50/50 chance of them being Scottish… Any thoughts? #ukbirding #birds #scotland #highlandbirding #crossbill #lumpy
