Also, how can he "deafen his smile"? That doesn't make sense. Also, how can you "hear the sunshine"? Madness have sensory confusion issues.

I know that I've said this before but I really mean it now, but that was the best one ever, thank you Tim and Ste! I'm definitely going to try to hunt down a copy of Rebecca's World, for me of course, if my daughter likes it that'll be a bonus - phew, I can't find a copy for less than $60!

Oh Mat #4 really freaked me out as that is totally me, utterly useless in large social gatherings, thinking I was going deaf, asking people to repeat themselves (but giving up and just smiling and pretending) but getting tested and being told I have excellent hearing. No neurodivergent diagnosis.

This was a particularly enjoyable episode for me as right off the bat I got a mention, albeit as my Spotify username! So thank you for that!

Listening now, great stuff! By the way, The You And Me theme tune was done by UB40 in the Cosmo and Dibs era, but they curiously were never credited!

Apparently it got a lot of airplay, both on Radio 1 and Radio 2, so it had a wide audience of youngsters and older Radio 2 easy-listening fans. A couple of years back and this simply wouldn't have happened for obvious reasons! :D

That's not enough!

Oh goodness, the best one yet! I know I've said this before, but i really mean it!! Quantick, Sheppard et al, it's over to you!!

3/3 Now I sort of understand it as rather menacing in a way, perhaps a bit questionable in its portrayal of native American culture as perceived then! The reboots did not use the same theme, perhaps I wasn’t the only kid that was freaked out by it, so I'm throwing it out there!

2/3 This did not stop the rest of my family from continuing to watch it. Anyway, I inevitably returned a bit later as it was such a good show, and I loved the avuncular Fred Dinenage.

1/3 According to my mum I was absolutely terrified of the theme for the Southern TV series “How” in the 70’s. Apparently when it came on, I would start to sob hysterically and proceeded to run out of the room.

It was released in late 1979 but was a big hit in early 1980, so it qualifies as probably the worst song of both the 70s and the 80s!

Definitely needed. This place is too serious!

Due to the lack of ticks I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out who are the real deal and who are the fake accounts.

If nothing else, you've got to admit they are a fabulous color!

Being British I always called them beetroot, however the root bit is redundant because we only eat the root, so just beet is sensible. My American-born daughter also calls them beetroot. I couldn't figure out why until I realized that they were called that in Minecraft, so she just copied that!

I don't remember it being so bad when it came out, but it clearly is - perhaps I was just too charitable since the original was so important to me and anything that would shine some light and perhaps get people to watch the original must be okay? Clearly wrong!

Fabulous, welcome back! I have duly subscribed to you here as instructed! And yes, Threads is weird!

I was just about to go to bed as it's gone midnight here in California, darn you I need to listen to this now, as the Goon Pod is unmissable!

Joanne always excellent! Loved the bit about Frank Muir - I don't have a signed copy of a What A Mess! book, but I do have a signed copy of his autobiography, not to me though! So, if you know anyone called Barbara, I can let her have it so she can pretend!

Yes, I was totally thinking of that example! They can't just pile up sand on its own, that was never going to work!
