Last year began and I had a found family and optimism for life. I was full of love and surrounded by it. This year, I am going in almost alone, surrounded by burning bridges. I'm only thankful for what I have. The last year bent what couldn't break. Making 'resolutions' for this one seems idiotic.

Not that I'm pressuring @nthcircle.bsky.social to do more work on what is a fantastic world, but I'd love to see what the rules of evidence look like in the otd time. Because here and now, 'badgering' is an objection that exists because; inciting someone to an outburst is not testimony.

A problem that I’m going to see popping up in this space is that certain positions are being forced to use gAI for work, against their will, and progressives are going to find out and shun their allies for participating in this shitshow under the threat of their livelihood.

One of the big problems with the current AI bubble is that it is degrading the quality of adjacent technologies. Image recognition models that I need to use for work have become noticeably worse. Or rather, they are being replaced with chatbot cores and I can't uncouple them.

I didn't realize how many people don't know this but PSA
If you're dealing with a company and something unjust happens, look up their leadership, look at an example of how their emails are formatted, and send one to the CEO.

I love the new Pokémon Legends Z-A, but the stink of generative ai in the localization is ruining it for me. All of the dialogue is so samey and there are just emdash-no-spaces everywhere. The location descriptions on the map are the nail in the coffin.

An interesting phenom that I didn't expect with the rise of gAI is artist traitors. That is: people who learned to become skilled creators and then revealed that they had no respect for their own artistic process, and just wanted the end result. Fascinating.
