Shades, not shaded
- most likely (at least partly) translated from the English version for the French localization.
Of course I don't think it ruins the localizations or anything. It just makes some very interesting details lost in translation!

But with the Angels now called the Watchers, and the Demons now called the Shaded, it's a lot harder to see!
I'd argue Angels and Demons would have sound less serious and goofier as enemy names in English. The French version of Drakengard called them Archangels, but NieR is-
