Until we have an 'intermediate' (up to grade 6) tier, I'd prioritise other parts of the curriculum for foundation tier pupils. Saddens me to say that, as is a lovely topic.
Higher, I'd do 2 - 4 weeks after Surds.

Ha! That must've been frustrating.
I remember my corridor being remodelled over Summer.
The contractors moved my desk and all cable sockets to the wrong side of the room, dumped all equipment (notably my 2 visualisers & raised desk) in a colleagues store room.
Took months to find.

Isn't it a great feeling when tou have your desk and visualiser set up perfectly?
Whenever I move schools, I it takes me a few attempts over months to get it exactly as I want it.
I end up buying/improvising extention cables and a special visualiser table.

If >80% of everything else was impressive / aligned with what I beleive works, then, yes. Absolutely.
But I'd be pestering you for a visualiser before long.

Yep, you can't read the crowd as often when you are writing with your back to the class.
Scanning the room for uncertainty, scepticism, attention, confusion etc... is so important.

The visualiser is the closest I know to Merlin Donald's notion of the External Memory Field — the externalised working memory of the teacher made 'permanent' (well not transient) and visible.

Still using it, but less.
I'm reluctant to let certain utterances from certain people (including the incumbent owner) be the reason that I deactivate

Extremely useful, especially for any ITTs i work with in September.
Many found this mrsjobaker.wordpress.com/2018/05/31/h... useful last year when Tom Bennett shared it. I think @jobaker9.bsky.social wrote it.

Yes - looks like I misinterpreted your post, sorry.
As far as I know, I have not had the same problem. But I have tried to follow back all new followers - most seem to be doing that on here.
