Worth noting that the fighter being interviewed here, Sean Strickland, is himself a somewhat infamous right wing loudmouth, even by MMA fighter standards. However I believe he was also a victim of sex abuse as a child so I can understand this being a particular sore point.

As far as faculty hiring goes,, as someone who has participated in the process, anyone affiliated with the university in any way would be in very deep shit for making a comment of that nature to a candidate who was interviewed in person. A dean? Next to zero chance in my opinion.
