Yesterday I spoke about patterns in Don Steward's answers at #mathsconf39. Coincidentally I was revising with my Y7 daughter this morning (she has a test tomorrow) & gave her two of Don's algebra pyramids. She was delighted to get the same answer twice so I checked the rest... :)

Need more resources on teaching math as literacy instruction.
The struggle for many of my college folks at the moment is actually reading the (symbolic) math fluently, a fascinating connection to the literacy crisis! (Separate from issues with reading instructions/context.)
