Yeah, we already have the technology to solve global hunger *right now*. We don't need AGI - or for that matter crypto or quantum - to solve global hunger. It is simply in the interest of the power structure to *not* solve it.

None of those things are real, because they happened to other people and other people aren't real. Only things that happen to Marjorie are real.

The product/service was addressing the fact that Amazon didn't own the games market, and they wanted to own the games market. They *started* with the assumption that they'll take over, and then continued with market plans in that vein that were completely disconnected from reality. Happens a lot.

It's Fallon. Embarrassing losers are his wheelhouse.

I think Keighley created that category with the best of intentions *and* I also think it's an embarrassing indictment of the video game industry.

The game was so popular and its visuals so adaptable that just about every early-model 3D accelerator from the mid-90s came with its own bespoke version of MechWarrior 2. Some looked really great! And some, for particularly weak 3D chips, managed to look worse than just plain software rendering.

Now I'm tempted to arrange a double feature for someone who hasn't seen either movie.

My writing is a complete hodgepodge of British English and American English based entirely on which spelling of any given word I personally prefer.

I suppose the vanguard of retro styling was overdue for a transition from VHS glitch artifacts to MPEG-1 glitch artifacts - still, so very weird to see as an intentionality emulated look.

A lot of gamers online are either poorly socialized or simply actual children, and haven't developed their theory of mind to a level where they would understand the difference between 'Not For Me' and 'Not For Anyone'.

Oh wow - hadn't thought about Harvester in thirty years 🤔

A lot of them cannot comprehend the possibility of a secret third thing, which is of course by design.

The /s was the friends we obliterated and replaced by pronouns along the way 🙏

How do you feel about all the experiments with ray tracing that the DSLightingEngine dev has been posting recently? Is it something you might be interested in using down the line?

If people like Todd were capable of learning anything from the art they experience, they wouldn't be what they are.

The leg movement and foot placement, the feeling of shifting weight, are *incredible*. I hope there's a conference talk or something in your future once the game is out.

I'm given to understand that the people doing this also hate and abuse Holocaust survivors a lot. Not as much as Palestinians of course, but still, this is less 'hurt people hurting people' and more a swarm of fascists descending onto and exploiting a very susceptible political environment.

Wow Mike, I can't believe you'd say such a thing about video game luminary Al Pacino.

The current US administration will absolutely not stand in the way of a massive company devouring another massive company. It's their second favorite thing.

The only reason many gamers want games to be seen as art, is so that their parents learn to appreciate how good they are at CoD.

I'd hope at least everyone in Shaun's replies already knows this, but it feels like it's not nearly common knowledge out there. Humans might not be assessable in a simple manner, but they do (on average) seem to *love* the idea of assessing humans in a simple manner. No different from horoscopes.

I didn't mean it in a dismissive way - I just think that's what the current statistics are, compared to any gaming platform other than mobile.
December 4, 2025 at 6:21 PM
I haven't checked any recent market research, but I'm pretty sure a larger percentage of Nintendo fans are in possession of the source material than any other platform.
