The story of THIS match was not good. That’s the point. I’m not going to speculate or fantasize about what happens next. The hook angle fell flat. It had like a 3 week Hangman vs Opps build based off of a generic “you have what I want” story. Even the cage was a last minute addition in story. Rush

Because besides the title this story didn’t have any stakes.

Nothing fantasy about this. It was a rush job.

Hangman’s entire AEW run has literally been built around grand storytelling. Yeah anyone can lose on any night, but that’s not a good payoff to an angle that is only two weeks old against someone like Joe who only realized last month that he’s a bad guy again. It’s just not a good story. Thats it.

I’m not saying Hangman should have been champion forever, or even a year. But this was a weak story that didn’t warrant a title change. It was a bad move. Maybe hangman needs surgery, idk.
