At Vivaldi we continue to make choices that are different from our competitors. We have chosen to not integrate AI or crypto, but instead we integrate a wealth of other features, based on the wishes of our users.

We are a European company with most of the team based in Norway and Iceland, a few […]

One thing I’m learning from Hytale and Vintage Story is that Minecraft really could use some work in the ambience department. The audio especially is absolutely bland compared to modern clones.

Has anyone worked out how to get KenkuFM running on NixOS? The official builds use dynamic libraries and I’m not savvy enough with the nix config (yet) to work this out by myself.

Ok, I like “RV There Yet?” More than Peak. Both are great games but I think RV enforces teamwork a bit better.

Vibing with Motortown: Behind the Wheel tonight. A great driving game with in-game internet radio, perfect for relaxing.

More games need to use in-game streaming radio.

Did Youtube break resuming videos in history?

For at least the last couple days now when I go to a video in my history and click on it, it starts the video over from the beginning, even if there is clearly a red line indicating watch progress under it.

Anyone else seeing this?

My wife got me on the Buldak instant ramen... it has been quite some time (probably like 10 years) since I've eaten instant ramen.

There have been significant technological advancements.

The thing I find interesting about video game glitches is that almost universally, they are not seen as a slight on the developers, but a credit to the ingenuity of speed runners.

Is there a way in NixOS to specify a default desktop session in SDDM? It seems to randomly switch from Niri to Plasma on me.

Logitech forgot to renew a certificate so its macOS apps for its mice are broken. Windows users are unaffected. A fix is available for G Hub and Options+ on macOS, but it has to be manually applied 🥲 www.theverge.com/news/857377/...
Logitech caused its mice to freak out by not renewing a certificate
That’s one heck of an oversight.

Maybe I’m crazy but I’ve always considered all Metroid games open world. Some areas are gated but you can freely visit unlocked areas and AFAIK that is the cornerstone of “Open world”.

I want a game that is like the dungeon crawling of darkest dungeon (room to room with permanent and semi-permanent status effects), combined with the combat of Badurs Gate 3, with online coop where each of my friends gets to control a party member, with a roguelike run system.

So I spent the afternoon trying to get Gemini to help me out with a gamescope issue... giving it a fresh chance on non-swift code. It failed horribly.

1. It took me forever to get it to stop paying attention to an unrelated warning in some logs.

2. It kept giving me info that didn't work […]

Is there a good open source equivalent to SFSymbols?

I found feather icons, and they are pretty good, but they don't seem to be actively developed at the moment. I was curious if there were any more active projects.

So I got my dot files migrated into a git repository and then set up links to the ~/.config paths. It was a much more manual process than I would have liked.

Then I set up swayidle, I didn't really want to mess around with systemd, so I am using a niri-spawn function and a plain old config file […]
