One thing I’m learning from Hytale and Vintage Story is that Minecraft really could use some work in the ambience department. The audio especially is absolutely bland compared to modern clones.

Ok, I like “RV There Yet?” More than Peak. Both are great games but I think RV enforces teamwork a bit better.

Did Youtube break resuming videos in history?
For at least the last couple days now when I go to a video in my history and click on it, it starts the video over from the beginning, even if there is clearly a red line indicating watch progress under it.
Anyone else seeing this?

Maybe I’m crazy but I’ve always considered all Metroid games open world. Some areas are gated but you can freely visit unlocked areas and AFAIK that is the cornerstone of “Open world”.

I want a game that is like the dungeon crawling of darkest dungeon (room to room with permanent and semi-permanent status effects), combined with the combat of Badurs Gate 3, with online coop where each of my friends gets to control a party member, with a roguelike run system.

So I spent the afternoon trying to get Gemini to help me out with a gamescope issue... giving it a fresh chance on non-swift code. It failed horribly.

Shared libraries are the most annoying thing about #linux. I get why they exist, but they are the number 1 source of problems I encounter.

So I got my dot files migrated into a git repository and then set up links to the ~/.config paths. It was a much more manual process than I would have liked.
Then I set up swayidle, I didn't really want to mess around with systemd, so I am using a niri-spawn function and a plain old config file […]
