📍 Los Angeles, California

LIKES: lists, travel, food, law, urbanism, maps, transit, weather, hiking, Oxford commas, coffee, seltzer, sarcasm

DISLIKES: humidity, misuse of your/you're, Iceberg lettuce, lack of sidewalks
Vancouver, thank you for the hospitality, delicious food, and amazing scenery. I love that you’re < 3 hour flight from LA. Will see you again soon hopefully!

Fan Girl Cafe in West Hollywood is such a gem 🌈☕ A vibrant + inclusive space celebrating women, non-binary + LGBTQ artists in music. Amazing coffee, great vibes, and walls that honor icons across all genres + generations. Truly a haven for community + creativity 💜 #WeHo #LA #FanGirlCafe #LGBTQIA

I no longer live in an East Coast city but my coat closet doesn’t reflect that.

Such good sky tonight. Seriously, is EVERYTHING prettier in California?!

Extremely rude of my weather widget to think I’m still in L.A. despite being back in 100° DC/MD for over 24 hours now 😡

OMG how perfectly on brand is this? That restaurant on the Hill, where all of TACO’s followers go, apparently spelled Caesar wrong on their menu lol

From L to R, it's Oscar Wilde, Angela Davis, Freddie Mercury, and Alan Turing. Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈 #Annapolis #Maryland #Pride

Happy to see the LGBT+ icons banners back up on Tsu (f/k/a Tsunami)'s exterior for Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈 #Annapolis #Maryland #Pride

FTR, I'm not anti-pickup truck; I am anti-MASSIVE pickup truck. Case in point, we were behind two types at a light this weekend. The one on the right is just stupid.

When @xminust.bsky.social & I moved to Maryland 5 years ago, we noticed all the giant pickup trucks here (as compared to D.C. where you just don't see them at all). There were 4 GIANT ones just in our building's garage. They don't even fit in the spots (see pic). Now, there are EIGHTEEN OF THEM!

We celebrate nice days in #DC by eating ice cream sandwiches in an alley ✨

Haven’t been on a 3000 series Metro train in YEARS. They still run these things? (Guess I’m about to find out.) #DCMetro #DC

Holy moley, the wind in Maryland today is bananas!
March 16, 2025 at 8:51 PM
Oh, sure, the middle of the sidewalk is the perfect place to dump snow. Do better, #Annapolis. (This was the 3rd one I encountered on my walk today.)

It’s 2025; can we be done with these [REDACTED] styro packing peanuts already?! They’re annoying af and horrendous for the environment

I’ve only just started reading @sarahkendzior.bsky.social’s book “Hiding in Plain Sight” (long overdue, I know) and, friends, already I have about 85%, give or take, of it highlighted and annotated.

Every sentence is eye-opening, poignant, and shout worthy.

I remember it well! I took this pic 3-4 weeks later of the former site of the conv ctr turned parking lot which was used to store a lot of DC's snow post-removal. It was at least 2 stories tall in sections and was visible until May I think. Fun fact: this is where City Center is now!

These were giving sunshine and happiness, so I bought them

One thing about living/working in DC is when they say it’s going to be in the low-to-mid 50s for highs, you can BET that it’ll be at least 60. (Almost 60 and not even 11a.)

This city torches on unseasonably warm days, especially in the past 5-10 years.

Friends, this book is really good and helpful so far. Will report back once done, but so far, it’s A+
