I gotta respect the game on the relatable fact of it being a 10+ year project / fan work. It’s really great if not overindulgent at times

I like the facility chapters a ton! It definitely fixes all of the original’s issues while adding cool details and connections to the rest of the series.

Then there’s Xen… Beautiful, but once Gonarch’s Lair and Interloper hit, the game tanks for me.

Final boss is dope though. Good changes to it

I’m always down to talk about the HL series yes 👏

Plus I just like the setting and agency of HL1 more. You’re just a guy in a bad situation and you gotta fight to escape while uncovering what’s going on. You can be friendly and help NPCs or kill them and take their stuff.

In 2 you are the savior of the world and everyone praises everything you do

It’s funny cause I actually like HL2 less because it’s so curated and “on a rail”. It’s not very fun to replay for me bc it’s way more scripted.

HL1 has jank but that makes it more of an unexpected experience. It’s got charm.

HL2 is polished and expertly crafted but I never revisit it.

The NTB movie is incredible btw. Laughed out loud the entire runtime.
