I made this to tweet about computer science and politics but somehow tweet entirely about F1. Whoops
Meanwhile AI will be increasingly relevant in both politics and the workforce and a large percentage of people I’d want to be the ones taking advantage of that and being relevant voices in the room are still going to be busy citing false statistics about water and saying it’s useless as technology

This frustrates me more than anything else about this site. There are plenty of liberal and progressive minds in the AI space, but they’ve basically all been bullied off of here by now which causes a positive feedback loop that makes everyone here think AI is a right wing tech bro technology

I resonate with this a lot, I’ve always said that I want to stay a coder for the foreseeable future. Turns out I’m very happy having AI write 99% of my code in the last few months. Now I get to live in architecture land full time and I’m loving it

This feels right to me. Read, plan, implement, review where you’re planning and implementing in ~300 line blocks has felt like the sweet spot. As the models get better I up my LoC target (Opus 4.5 might be upping it to 500…). Results in rapid development and high quality code

I’m not getting redzone this year because of this and got Sunday Ticket instead. Somehow I don’t think that’s the 🖕to the NFL/ESPN that I was hoping for though

This tweet made me want to ask my work to replace my stock options with abstract treats. Stock options are nebulous, possibly worthless, nonsense while ඉ is a very aesthetically pleasing symbol

The definitions people come up for for consciousness on here I think is making me slowly move toward believing that humans aren’t conscious 😆

I mean I don’t know the exact series of neuron firings that lead to me having a thought and things just kinda pop into my brain all the time so if self awareness of thought beyond a chain of reasoning is the measure…

They’re very pro making money off AI! Which is what they’re trying to make sure they’re more in control of with this change

This is true for me at least. My reaction wasn’t “cool I wonder how awesome this painting is except from the side” it’s “this is a really cool demo to see how spatial understanding has made amazing progress recently”. It’s only cool in a tech demo way

That’s interesting, looks like the number was wrong in the presentation?

Your guess is probably right. We can only speculate on why they add whatever safeguard, but avoiding stereotyping or specifically targeting what they think is an unethical use case (probably the survey use case you were trying honestly) are all pretty good guesses

They did it again with the “coding deception” graph lol

Also to be clear ID verification shouldn’t be abused. Blocking information behind an age gate is wild
August 5, 2025 at 4:52 PM
If you’re a government thinking of implementing this type of system you need to ensure that you’re building the ID verification system out yourself, that it’s actually secure, and that websites do verification via an anonymous handshake where the website doesn’t actually see any PII on their end
