in NC you may be asked to take it off & keep it off by police or staff anywhere, there is no guarantee you'll be allowed to put it back on. Other mask bans focus on "face coverings in public gatherings" (protests/conventions/etc) & no health exemptions are currently mentioned in some of those

A couple people have asked my kid recently and when he says he's not sick and he doesn't want to get sick, they say "that's a good idea"

the extra amazing part about this is that the social services offices I've seen still have their signs up.. heck, even the courthouse and mall have their signs up (in a mask ban state).... But as soon as doctors offices weren't requiring masks anymore they took everything down.
