Excited to share our new findings: transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation leads to increases in locus coeruleus activity, which correlate with changes in salivary alpha amylase in older individuals. #locuscoeruleus www.brainstimjrnl.com/article/S193...
Locus coeruleus fMRI response to transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation is coupled to changes in salivary alpha amylase
Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) has shown promise to non-invasively enhance memory in older adults and those with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) [1,2]. Evidence suggests this...

Does tVNS elicit replicable effects beyond BOLD responses in the brainstem? Yes, pulsed, but not conventional tVNS leads to robust pupil dilation in our new meta-analysis.

Anne Churchland and Felicia Davatolhagh discuss why we must address the gender gap in neuroscience citations.

Women are systematically under-cited in neuroscience. New tools can change that.
An omitted citation in a high-profile paper led us to examine our own practices and to help others adopt tools that promote citation diversity.

We have a new preprint on tVNS-induced pupil dilation. It comes again with a Shiny App to customize the settings. #neuroscience

Tonic and phasic transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) both evoke rapid and transient pupil dilation
Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS or taVNS) is a non-invasive method of electrical stimulation of the afferent pathway of the vagus nerve, suggested to drive changes in putative p...

Surprising how similar the responses actually are in light of previous studies. Great work by Skora, Marzecova, & Jocham (not on bsky yet). #neuroscience #psychology 🩺
