Yup. But this is what makes me so mad. It was sold as "look what we can do!" and instead of doing any of those things, it's just destroying the environment and creating deep fake porn and shittier minion gifs. This is why we can't have nice things.

According to my former "chief people officer" 🤮 if I didn't want to spend 90 min driving 11 miles, I should be in the office by 7 to avoid traffic (the fact that I regularly worked until 6 was not considered). I quit (in part) bc of the commute. I drove because the OL was *so absurdly unreliable*

See, this is what it's supposed to do for us. Exactly this. I mean, it won't - every time I've used #Claude to compile data there were substantial errors, so I stopped - but this is what it's SUPPOSED to do. Too bad it's not reliable. If it worked well it would be one thing...

This is the problem with NIL money. If you know you can get a free biscuit, you're going to push harder. You pay these kids, they don't value the free biscuit. 🤣

...doesn't sound like you/I'm worried about you/Hey, maybe you should talk to someone...". The lack of these natural interruptions is making delusions and paranoia so much worse. I am extraordinarily concerned for the safety of my friend and their family, and Chat GPT does not care.

It's literally ending a friend's marriage. Partner is experiencing "AI psychosis" because their (unfounded) concerns about infidelity are being amplified by Clippy on steroids. Concerns become full blown delusions because there *are no brakes*. A friend or a colleague might say "Hey there - this

🎶I don't want a lot, Prescriptmas, underneath the Christmas tree
I just need to take the edge off
My crippling anxiety 🎶
I've been banned from CVS
Cost Plus Drugs might mail Express
I'm willing to pose nuuuuuude
All I want Prescriptmas, is 'ludes

Both of these are genius.

I have zero context for this quote but it's the most accurate thing ever.

Imagine having the opportunities that attending that school can offer you, and deciding to double down on quoting Hitler. Perhaps the funds raised for this rag could be diverted to PBHA to support the two shelters that Harvard runs. It's a better use of half a million dollars anyway.

As a clinician, it is continually astounding to me that nothing happens here. If this was anyone else, there would already be an effort to evaluate. If this was your grandfather, you'd be looking at care homes. If this was your boss, you'd be calling HR. It just blows my mind.

I have a pretty solid "no crying on Saturdays" policy that has been entirely violated. Dear god but that's powerful.

"This benefited me but should never benefit anyone else" is the tagline for everything about this administration. Their logo should just be an image of someone pulling up the ladder behind them while everyone else drowns or burns.

Sr year, dating a guy a couple of years older. Get a brand new physics teacher midyear. Turns out he & the bf were a couple of years apart in HS & had regularly hung out to get high and cut class, & still overlapped in some social circles. You should never know your teacher's high school nickname

My first visit to the city was during a March nor'easter. I was fascinated by the number of umbrellas in outdoor trash cans... I think I took 30 pictures. They were all mangled in some really interesting ways, like the bones of some sad bird. When I moved I invested in a good raincoat.

This is why I stopped financially supporting NPR. This isn't journalism. It's not accurate on many levels, and it's lazy. @npr.org could do better; they are choosing not to. It's a choice. It's disheartening and embarrassing; absolutely state mouthpiece junk right here.

Golden is just a disaster. I know he's said he's not running again but he should still be held accountable to the people that voted for him.

He's two for two today - he was apparently the lone Dem nay in opposition to McGovern's push to keep us out of a war with Venezuela. "Crook" is polite.

Cuellar is the spineless one, for those that were wondering. Because of course.

She looks like her head is at any moment going to tilt at an unnatural angle; staring at you, unblinking, while spiders crawl out of her mouth.

Specific, but not inaccurate.

Seconding this. I understand that journalism has a cost (and I guess somebody needed to buy the Red Sox?) but this sort of news should be available to everyone. Save the paid clicks for your opinion pages; this sort of news should be readily available.
