The UK-wide GSS ethnicity harmonisation consultation is also now open.

It is inviting views on how ethnicity data is collected across government to improve quality and consistency of ethnicity data.

The autumn has also seen a focus on work underpinning our admin based population estimates. We’ve been engaging with Local Authorities to get their feedback and working to make the production process more sustainable.

Autumn also saw my cohort of the GSS Fast Stream move from their first postings. It’s been brilliant to get a small insight into the experiences and enthusiasm of these individuals. I also shared this blog, inspired by questions from this cohort. 👇

September was a busy month for conferences! With the @royalstatsoc.bsky.social and @bspsuk.bsky.social conferences and the International Census Forum. It was great to share what we are doing and hear more from others across the UK and beyond!
