Ok, my poor choice of words, the point I was trying to make is that the UK passed a law that mandates ID verification for certain things but has made no provision for protecting that process for UK citizens making the average lay-person / user possibly more open to abuse of their personal data.

Is there also an issue that a UK law now mandates that users submit their personal ID data to potentially non-UK based companies where that sensitive data may be stored outside of the UK and covered by different / non-UK controlled data privacy laws?
