We paid about £300 a year extra a year whilst he was a learner driver.
He's now got my old car at Uni, Y2. A 14 plate Kuga. 1st years insurance was £2k!!! It was the same for a newer smaller 1.0L car...crazy!!

I had mine last month.
Last year, the first year not having it, I got the flu. I was in bed for 3 days solid (starting Xmas day), and it took 2 weeks to recover.
