Have I ever told you the time my wife and I went to a concert of his and she scored a backstage pass? They were in a upstairs room and I was waiting by an outside door by the stairwell. I suddenly realized that at that moment, it was after sundown and I was literally creeping by Gord's back stairs.

Also, while I disagree with his politics and I don’t think it’s at all a coincidence that this nut job was on his staff (Iran warship drone story?), in person he’s very gracious. The reason I see him so often is that he’s hardworking and accessible to constituents, an old school retail politician.

But then new human-related content dries up and AI becomes out of date, forced to endlessly hallucinate on itself. Music, book reviews, tourist hotspots, spirituality, culture—the human element that trained its “magic“ all along is lost because of the severed audience relationships.

Closely related to the niche publisher problem: we spend lots of time writing, editing, fact checking and rely on direct connection with readers for funding (the trifecta of ads, subscriptions, donations). AI can hoover it up and cut the flow of new readers, putting humans out of business… (1/)
