The marketplace of ideas. Academia offers not much past tired theoretical tripe or personal hells. And few are ready to buy, worn out by all the bunk, grift, and injustice. Keeping to themselves. Alone. Not enough social connection for a revolution or anything to really improve.

The poor state of Anglo academic treatment of Classic German Philosophy is not only a matter of limited or inadequate translations. It is at least as much caused by not being able to access the wealth of precursor, contemporary, and subsequent German sources essential for grasp.

4 big dishonest cultural appropriations in philosophy: 1. Greek on Egyptian/Asian, 2. Church on Greek, 3. Idealism on Persian/Indian, 4. Anglo Analytic on German. Although glaring, these thefts are still taboo to so-called history of philosophy, which is literally whitewashing.

When I studied Philosophy, older professors told us to listen, read, and only ask to further our understanding, before we opened our bratty mouths opining on philosophers or philosophies. Our writings were measured on perfection. This useful honesty and expectation is now lost.

A question arises whether academic philosophy in its present form can reorient itself to continue its original mission of advancing humanity. Few if any of its denizens were trained in this objective or even acknowledge it. They may not have the necessary skills or motivations.

When I went to law school in the US and fellow students were getting ready to apply for internships or attorney positions, I saw resumes that made me wonder how a mid-20s person could already have such a long list of accomplishments. They read like obituaries of centenarians.

You are wasting life doing or resisting what others wish. To be you, you must work yourself and your world out in your mind. Others might help, but it is on you to figure and live your life. Nobody else can do it nearly as well for you. Check out the website in my profile.
