In local papers the comments are usually people sneering at climate change. Here, there are enough sane people commenting that the crazies are limited to complaining that the article is in the business section, because they know they'd be made to look stupid with the usual tripe.

It's not defunct. They just released something this year, have something else in the pipeline, and generate around $80 million a year revenue in licensing, merchandise, and royalties. They also repackage old stuff for broadcast online. In 2015, their most recent theatrical movie grossed ~$250 mm.

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as the American people keep sending strong civil liberties advocates to office, as they've always done, everything will be fine, just fine. There is no chance this will ever be used to establish a police state by trustworthy oligarchs like Elon and Thiel.

with Trump out of the way, liberals will have nothing to sneer back at -- for awhile. It would also give them the opportunity to say, "Hey, it was all that Trump guy's fault," when in reality, they supported everything he did. People wishing for Trump's demise might not have thought this through. /
