E c'è pure specificato *state* in quel caso nell'originale. Chissà che c he fanno se invece di Washington trovano scritto "DC" e basta, che probabilmente è solo colloquiale parlato, ma può succedere

Hi, are you asking because you're reading it? I'm not qualified to give advice, but if you've started it you'll have seen that violence *of every form* is the leitmotiv. There's no particular episodes that I remember that are more detailed, it's the general theme of every way humans can be horrible

I'm not a huge connoisseur of the genre but I saw Emmet Cohen's Infinity in Italy years ago (I think it's a collaboration with italian musicians) and it was great Infinity — Emmet Cohen share.google/XX3Uz4sc32p6...

I love all languages but my overall preference goes to German, which I'm learning. I like its monumentality as well as its fun combinatorial dynamism. Of course on another level, the sentimental, I love my own language, Italian

Admittedly I'm not a huge board games fan, but I also don't know many - got any favourites? Do you do war games too?

Thanks! I've put it on reading list (ever growing). I'm pausing dystopias for the time being as I need something else, but pretty sure will resume soon. I've read "parable of the Sower" if you want suggestions for another non-classic one: interesting, debatable message, but warning: very very bleak

Faccio quasi cagare anche in italiano al wordle, figuriamoci in tedesco dove ancora ho un vocabolario scarso, ma ci provo, magari mi aiuta

I'm with Aquiss and very happy - reliable and they don't treat you like a sponge to squeeze, in case you're looking for options

There's plenty of words in e.g. Lombardo or Veneto, even pre-unification, with the double consonants indeed, and they do get pronounced, albeit probably a bit less starkly as *I* would do.

I searched a bit and (I may have misunderstood you?), and: languages from the north of Italy don't have the raddoppiamento fonosintattico, but they have general double consonants (always have), both in writing and pronunciation. This is an 1821 Venetian/Paduan vocabulary share.google/15oar0UGEDLZ...
