Asking this guy out of context questions like "should Lithuania be a country" to see just how insane his answers get

The colour revolution thing is so funny. Buddy polarized himself into supporting the USSR

Literally protesting in *any random public place that is not a place of worship* would be better.

Protesting is not about "doing something", it is about achieving a fucking outcome. Would you scold someone criticizing the (oil industry plant) eco-protestors splashing paint on paintings this way?

The point of protesting a synagogue in this case - making people aware of and opposed to US support for Israeli settlements - gets undermined if everyone associates that with harassing worshippers!
November 25, 2025 at 12:19 PM
"It would have terrible optics" is a perfectly fine rationale not to pursue a particular protest.

triple a small number is typically still a small number!

It's pretty funny that instead of getting Peak Oil, we might instead hit a point of Worthless Oil before that point

"Investing in fossil fuels just because it has cool vibes despite there being much cheaper energy out there" is definitely a Trumpist thing these days.

One time on twitter someone DMed me asking for a profuse apology for liking a joke a gay person made about 'bottoms'

is this a living situation or the setup to a weird math problem??
November 24, 2025 at 11:48 PM
Yeah, like the basic case for not ranking it last is Attack Of The Clones has like barely 10% of the aesthetic merit, they swapped out everyone wearing awesome robes like it's a Dune adaptation for.. a space 1950s diner.
November 24, 2025 at 10:34 PM
I don't care if the plot is interesting or has good ideas or even if it's logically consistent, if the actual movie elements - the pacing, the flow of time, the basic sense of momentum - are bad! A bad plot with good pacing is 100 times more watchable than the reverse!

People way way way way overindex film analysis on the script, and this is especially true for everything Star Wars from the prequels on.
November 24, 2025 at 8:41 PM
I appreciate that the costume design and aesthetics of Phantom Menace look incredibly cool, and it has two very good action sequences.

The atrocious pacing more than makes up for that, but like, there *is* something to grab onto.

I think a significant part of it as well is that technological advances has rendered one of the core SOF missions - spotting and forward air control - basically obsolete. UAS on the low end and much more capable aircraft+munitions on the high end mean CAS looks extremely different now I think.

Yeah it sucks ass. For the most part I'm talking about like, Indeed where an application can take like 30 seconds if you don't bother with a cover letter.

Going to an industrial park, dropping off resumes and following up with people I talked with ended up being way better than Indeed for me tho
November 24, 2025 at 5:03 PM
It's kind of a two-way problem, where online applications are so easy that every decent job gets *hundreds* of applications and it's impractical to manually review all of them.

The only way to solve that without a lot of filtering is to make applying way more difficult, I think.

If your plan to join with Russian soldiers, sing kumbaya and overthrow their fascist dictatorship will work, more power to you.

We live in reality. Fight fascism or die.

Racism, but against people who are not part of your entirely new racial category you just made up
November 22, 2025 at 10:14 PM
The same people who insist that war is a net profit for capitalism also think there's no money in a similarly massive economic disruption. Pick one!
November 22, 2025 at 10:09 PM
Like there's this annoying tendency to insist that fascism is somehow the rational material incentive of capitalism, when in reality lol no it's not, CEOs are just stupid and evil
November 22, 2025 at 10:07 PM
"Capital's answer to climate change" as if capital would not be thrilled about suddenly getting a huge source of poor and exploitable labour

3rd Assault should be also marked as a division but still titled a brigade tbh
